Lands of the Mesozoic is a tableau building game where card engines are constantly evolving. The theme of the game is prehistoric nature. Here, dinosaurs are not blood-thirsty monsters constantly fighting with each other, but animals filling different roles in an ecosystem. The different types of animals need to be in balance for the ecosystem to be sustainable in the long term.  However, competition between species and the shifting nature of the surface of the Earth, will trigger extinction events of animals and habitats that, in turn, will open niches for new species to appear and spread.
